57.Carcinoid tumor of small intestine, gross

Its not exciting but its common--a hernia sac. A hernia is an outpouching of peritoneum through a defect or weakness, typical in the inguinal region. A loop of small bowel may become caught in the hernia sac, leading to bowel obstruction and possibly infarction.
